Cup of Joe

Everybody loves that first cup of cafe creme of the day and this nifty little frothing devise makes the best latte.  Who would have thought?  It operates on 2 double A batteries and comes with the stand it sits in.

While your coffee is brewing, put the desired amount of creamer you want in your cup, microwave the creme to warm it, use the Aerolatte to froth it then add your coffee.
Voila!
I purchased this from Restoration Hardware in February but in checking their website found it was no longer available.

Enjoy!

Eat Your Peas (For Tough Times) By Cheryl Karpen

Last year in May, I went to visit a friend who lives in British Columbia, Canada.  We happened to stop in at a little shop and I came across this sweet little book, Eat Your Peas.

Cheryl Karpen has written a series of these little books that can be given to just about anyone i.e. sons, daughters, moms, dads, someone special, girlfriends and like I said just about anyone.  These books are on specific topics with each one chocked full of inspiration and wisdom and are given as a gift to encourage people. It only takes about 3 minutes to read and is a great gift to give to anyone, yourself included.

This particular copy is on tough times with phrases that can enlighten the spirit and give someone who is going through a tough time hope.

In conclusion, I leave you with this excerpt from my book:  There is no challenge in life so big we can't handle it together.  Remember my promise.  I want to be there for you.  To celebrate your courage, to champion your dreams, and of course to remind you to...Always eat your peas.

Fifi Flowers Paintings Make A Statement

I'm sure all of you have paid a visit or two or three to Fifi Flowers Blog (here).  If you haven't, you really must see all the delightful and whimsical paintings she has available in her shop and the book reviews and author interviews on her new blog, Reading is Fashionable (here) inspiring us all to "relax" and read a good book.

I have made several purchases from her shop, some french inspired others not. Her work is not limited to french whimsey and she does commissioned paintings tailored to your specifications.  I recently matted and framed some of these and thought I'd share them with you.

When I saw this one, it reminded me of the cover of one of my mom's 1950s sewing pattern i.e. Butterick.

A girl in a swing kicking up her heels, a bit of french inspired whimsey.

                                         A femme fatale, oui?

                                          A French Park

A Beautiful Grouping...

When framed above the bed in a guest bedroom.

See the number 5?  It was Coco Chanel's favorite number.  When it comes to style, I'd say that Fifi is right up there with Coco!

Thank you Fifi for such lovely paintings.

Carpe Diem

Joyeux Anniversaire

Today is our 41 wedding anniversary and I wanted to share with you the wonderful man that made that possible.  This is the smile and man that captured my heart and still does. He is my best friend, my companion, a confidant, and lover, the source of my strength. Thank you for always being there for me and for sharing your life with me.

The year and the song seem just like yesterday.
