A Spring Poem

Happy First Day of Spring! After a milder than normal winter it is still nice to welcome our spring season with open arms. Who doesn't love the fresh smell of cut grass, new buds on the trees, the arrival of our feathered friends and those first bulbs pushing up through the ground. It is my favorite time of the year and even though it is here for only a short time, it is a welcomed time!  So, if your weather permits, "spring" open those door and windows and breath in the fresh scent spring! AHHHH....

"♬♪ Spring is busting ♩♫♭ out all over"

For winter's rains and ruins are over,
And all the season of snows and sins;
The days dividing lover and lover,
The light that loses, the night that wins;
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotton,
And in green underwood and cover
Blossom by blossom the spring begins.

Giveaway Winner

First off, I want to thank everyone who participated in my Giveaway introducing my new Etsy Shop.  I have had so many comments, additions to my Facebook page, La petite boutique de perles and my blog.  If you haven't liked me on La petite boutique de perles or my blog please feel free to do so.  Now, for selecting the winner, I did this the old fashioned way...None of that random number selection.  I like a more personal touch to selecting a winner.  So, I wrote everyone's name on slips of paper and had my husband draw them from a hat.  And...Drum Roll Please

The Winner is  Kairi.  I will be sending you an e-mail for your address.

All of You have been wonderful and I wish I had something for everyone.  I so appreciate your kind words and well wishes and love hearing from you.  If there is  a specific topic you would like to hear about, let me know as I would happy to research and do a post on it for you.  Stay tuned because I will be giving instructions with before and after pictures of using Annie Sloan paint in the coming days.

I will also be adding new items and will always post on my blog and Facebook.  For me "Simplicity is Comfort and that is the theme of my shop...To bring handmade items to each and every one of you that are simple, timeless, beautiful and always with a touch of France.

Now Reading

I am currently reading The New Eighteenth-Century Style - Rediscovering a French Decor. The text is by Michele LaLande and the photographs by Gilles Trillard.  I have to say that this is by far one of the best books on French design that I have come across AND I am always on the lookout for a great design book especially on French or Swedish design.

I will be doing a book review on this book very soon for Fifi Flowers blog, Reading is Fashionable. If you are interested in further books to consider for your summer reading please stop by and pay Reading is Fashionable a visit. Wonderful reviews on books, great author interviews, giveaways AND books with handpainted bookmarks by Fifi are sold via Fifi Flowers in her Etsy Shop AND she is having a fabUlous sale going on right now. http://www.etsy.com/shop/fififlowers

Stay tuned!
