CHOCOLATE MALTED MILK BALLS |
I love dark chocolate. I mean anything that is coated in dark chocolate. Imagine my delight in finding dark chocolate malted milk balls! Well, since I discovered them I'm afraid I have developed an obsession about them. If my stash gets down to 10 or 20 I find myself in a panic! I've seen milk chocolate malted milk balls but this was the first time for the dark chocolate. I have only been able to find them at Central Market. These malted milk balls are huge not like the small ones I've seen. (Whoppers) I'm not generally a candy eater but I'm telling you these are addictive and bad for someone who has to watch the calories like me.
I usually have great will power when it comes to NOT eating something that I know is full of calories but I don't have one ounce of will power when it comes to these. Don't they look yummy?
So, I have to ask you, COULD you resist a handful or two of these?
Do you have a favorite candy that you can't resist?
No way! I could not resist. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of will power. Glad blogger is back up. I tried to comment on your pillow post the other day. Have a great week. Mona
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! The candy looks beautiful in the picture. About three weeks ago, I decided to go "low carb" in regards to eating. That pretty much eliminates sugar in all it's forms. Amazingly, I really don't feel like I'm suffering. I indulge once a day in some 70-85% cocoa. One square is about all it takes for satisfaction. Cheese and bacon are also acceptable foods! So it boils down to no refined flours and very little sugar. I feel wonderful and have lost 4 lbs. in three weeks. Joint pain is gone as well. If you are curious, Google the author Gary Taubes who wrote "Why We Get Fat and What to Do About It". It was a real eye opener for me.
ReplyDeleteMarguerite,
ReplyDeleteI have tried "low carb" diets and for me they just don't work. I have high cholesterol and bacon (which I j'adore) and cheese are no-no's for me. I went on weight watchers and lost 35 pounds. It is a great diet and YOU can eat things that you could not on "low carb". I felt satisfied too. I just need to lose 10 more pounds...the last 10 is always the hardest. That is why I exercise, exercise and exercise plus I feel better when I do!
I was wondering about you yesterday!
Kris
Kris, isn't it interesting how one eating approach works better for one person than another? I just know it works for me. I tried Weight Watchers a few years ago. I found it just too structured and I was always hungry! Sugar and I just don't have a good relationship, lol. What kinds of exercise do you like? I have a recumbent bike that I love. Walking outside, too, although since I had my knee replaced 6yrs. ago, I have to do that moderately. My favorite thing is water exercise. Wish we had a pool. Our new house in Austin is in an area with lots of hills. OMG, you could get a great workout walking the streets. I have been busy with that total renovation project. We drive over weekly to meet with the builder and architect. The new windows went in last week. Totally changed the facade of the house. Hopefully, move in September. Also, my mother was hospitalized last Monday, but is back home now. It was a stressful week. Here's looking forward to next week!
ReplyDeleteI love malted milk balls - and now you tell me I can get them in Dark Chocolate....my hips are doomed. Oh, and I never met a chocolate covered raisin I didn't consume by the pound.
ReplyDeleteDear Kris,
ReplyDeletethank you so much for your warm words. Last week I had endured surgery. But it is getting better now and I am also feeling really good!
I COULD not resist this dark chocolate balls! I love dark chocolate so much. :o)...also dark chocolate filled with nuts...yummi.
I wish you a nice week.
Warmest regards,
Lucia
