Meet Viviette, la vache. Isn't she a beauty, non? We met her on our morning walk yesterday as we were passing this fenced in field. (I think she is a she) and while trying to snap this picture, she came strolling right up to the fence and gave me this nice big close-up smile. She is a Texas longhorn and while you can't see all of her (she only wanted you to see her best side as most girls are want to do) she is a BIG girl. I thought it only fitting to name her Viviette because in French the name means alive, animated, and lively and by the way she marched right up to fence, I knew she was exactly as the name suggests. In fact, she was sooo animated that hubby took a few steps backwards as he was snapping the above picture (mostly a city boy he says!).
After her brief greeting, Viviette returned to her grazing, obviously unimpressed with our conversation and attempts to engage her further.
Well, this pretty much takes care of today's post. Viviette sends her best and I can only hope that she doesn't end up on somebody's dinner table. Le sigh.
I love Vivette! I have always had a fondness for cows(?). On our jaunts around central Texas, we see lots of beauties. Last year we went to the Fayetteville, TX art show. Bought a lovely oil painting of the sweetest bovine ladies. Thanks for the pic.
ReplyDeleteMarguerite,
ReplyDeleteShe is a real beauty. She was so friendly. Once husband started to take the picture she started to move right up front as you can see by the photo and husband had to back up. LOL
I never know what I am going to find when we walk. I remember being told once by an instructor that everyday we should try to find and notice something new...and there is ALWAYS something new to see.
